  1. What is WiZ?
    WiZ is a new and exciting broadband Internet service from GlobeQUEST using the IEEE 802.11b or Wi-Fi wireless networking standard. It stands for Wireless Internet Zone. WiZ lets you connect to the Internet at broadband speeds using a Wi-Fi enabled laptop or PDA. Look for our WiZ logo at your favorite places and hangouts and get wirelessly connected fast!

  2. How do I use WIZ if I'm a Globe Handyphone Subscriber?
    If you are a postpaid Globe Handyphone subscriber, all you need to do is text WIZ_ON to 2333 or dial *9910 and a 24 hour username and password is sent to you. Other WIZ commands are as follows:

    WIZ_OFF or *9911Cancel/Terminate WIZ username and password
    WIZ_USAGE or *9912Check current WIZ usage for current username and password
    WIZ_HELP or *9913Customer Service Support

  3. How much do I spend for each WIZ request or command?
    You are charged P2.50 for every WIZ command.

  4. How much do I spend for WIZ usage?
    From Feb. 20 to March 31, WIZ usage will be on a free trial basis. You will be informed of WIZ per minute charges after the free trial period.

  5. What equipment do I need for WiZ?
    You need to have a Wi-Fi enabled laptop or PDA. If Wi-Fi is not built-in, you need to get a Wi-Fi client adapter to use with your laptop or PDA.

  6. What is a HotSpot?
    A HotSpot is a place where wireless Internet is available. A WiZ HotSpot is a place where WiZ service is available.

  7. What types of applications can I use in a WiZ HotSpot?
    WiZ lets you connect wirelessly to the Internet at broadband speed. Not only can you use it to browse, but to also email, download files, chat, play games, and do remote office work. You can also run office intranet applications and VPNs over WiZ. Think of WiZ as letting you run the same applications you would normally run on a wired Internet connection wirelessly!

  8. Where can I buy a Wi-Fi client adapter?
    You can buy a Wi-Fi client adapter from computer stores and distributors like PCXpress. Globe is working with Wi-Fi makers to make them more easily available. Contact marketing@globequest.com.ph for updates and referrals.

  9. What brands of Wi-Fi client adapters will work with WiZ?
    So far, these are brands that we've tested and can recommend: — Avaya
    — Buffalo
    — Cisco Aironet
    — Compaq
    — Fujitsu
    — IBM
    — Intel
    — Nokia D211
    — Orinoco
    Generally speaking, any Wi-Fi certified client adapter should work with WiZ.

  10. I have a laptop, Wi-Fi client adapter, and WiZ account? How do I connect to WiZ?
    To connect to WiZ, first you need to be within indoor range of a WiZ HotSpot. Secondly, you need to have your Wi-Fi client adapter properly configured. If you satisfy both requirements, just open your web browser and WiZ will automatically ask for your username and password. If you are having a difficult time configuring your Wi-Fi client adapter, refer to our Wi-Fi client adapter setup guide or contact customer service for assistance (Manila: 79-SUPRT (79-78778), VisMin: 1-8008-79-SUPRT (1-8008-79-78778), or helpdesk@globequest.com.ph).

    The network name or SSID of WiZ is "globequest".
